Hickory Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce Recipe

Give everything from chicken and pork to burgers, brisket and ribs the sweet and smoky fire pit flavour of true barbecue smoked over hickory wood chunks.

Ingredients

Sauce

1 cup ketchup
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ tablespoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
handful hickory wood chunks

Preparation

  1. Preheat your smoker to 115°C.
  2. In a cast iron skillet, mix ketchup, brown sugar, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper together. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Add hickory wood chunks to hot coals. Place cast iron skillet on smoker and cook at 115°C for one hour.
  4. Remove from smoker and enjoy!
